The first exercise helped you to recognize and understand your Healthy Adult Mode better. The second activity consists of a few exercises that are designed to strengthen your positive thinking and coping abilities and habits. These are very important to build and maintain the Healthy Adult Mode. Afterwards, write down your thoughts and experiences of the exercises. Do these on a regular basis (e.g. weekly or monthly). It is also a good idea to use a daily journal and return to your notes at a later date to compare progress.

It’s time to conclude our program of schema therapy to enhance personality features and, by implication, life satisfaction. By now, you have a good understanding of the development and features of the various dysfunctional schema modes, and used the opportunity to explore your own and identify alternative ways to avoid or limit their negative influence.
You have worked toward replacing these poorly adapted attitudes with your Happy Child Mode, but, more importantly, with your Healthy Adult Mode. It is important to emphasize that this is a lifelong journey that requires continual adjustment. However, the satisfaction of progress and accomplishment should always propel you forward toward increasingly satisfying experiences and relationships!
