Topic Progress:

Treating couple conflict and parenting problems involve being aware of the negative unhealthy/problematic thoughts that occur to you that are related to these issues. Once you are more aware of these thoughts, you will be in a better position to address them and alter them so that they do not interfere with your ability to effectively parent your children. Use the following worksheet to identify these for yourself and how they impact you and your family.

As you learned in the current session, there are several negative thoughts and thought processes which people often have that are related to couple conflict and parenting. Use the following worksheet to outline your main ones and how they impact you and your family. You may find it helpful to refer back to an exercise in session 2 for any negative thoughts that you identified there (see Session 1, Topic 3: Identifying your Couple Conflict and Parenting Problems).

Download and print a copy of the worksheet for each negative thought that you believe are related to and influencing your ability to resolve conflict, maintain healthy relationships, and provide effective parenting. The download link is here: Identify Problem Thoughts

Next, you will learn how to challenge these negative thoughts.
