- To learn about the factors that will contribute to your success in reaching your goals
- To identify your main problems associated with couple conflict and parenting
- To formulate your goals for addressing your couple conflict and parenting issues
Conflict in all relationships is inevitable and couple relationships are no exception to this rule. The more demands a couple takes on, across their lifetime together, the more chance there is that conflict may arise related to these demands. Parenting is one type of demand that may be placed on a couple’s relationship and it is commonly known that the hard work, required time, and mental energy can take a toll on a relationship. And although many couples deeply enjoy becoming parents, not only can parenting present its own challenges but conflict within the couple relationship can spill over and negatively affect parenting as well.
In the next section, we explore the effects that couple conflict has on children.
